FAA Spaceport Analysis Toolkit (SAT)
FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation (AST)
The Spaceport Analysis Toolkit (SAT) is a cloud-based prototype for the FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation. It analyzes feasibility of proposed spaceport sites using geospatial data from FAA, DHS, and other agencies to identify airspace conflicts, ground infrastructure impacts, and safety/environmental issues.
Cignus served as prime contractor, developing a Node.js/AngularJS frontend with Cesium 3D mapping, custom backend APIs, GIS data services using WMS/WFS/WMTS protocols, and an Integrated IAM system.
Outcomes
- Cloud-based spaceport feasibility analysis platform for FAA AST
- Custom Cesium 3D GIS mapping with geospatial risk analysis
- Automated airspace conflict and NAS infrastructure compatibility checks
- Integrated IAM for secure access management
