Florian Hafner, PhD

As Executive VP and Chief Technology Officer, Florian leads Cignus' engineering and product development with 27 years in aviation and air traffic management — particularly fast-time simulation, modeling, and operations research. He has served as project manager and principal investigator on planning studies for the FAA, NASA, PANYNJ, United Airlines, FDOT, and DOAV, including UAS integration into the National Airspace System, the NASA Airport Safety Digital Twin platform, fast-time simulation of Houston George Bush Intercontinental, the New Istanbul Grand Airport capacity assessment, and the FAA Spaceport Analysis Toolkit. He has held faculty appointments at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University since 2015.
